What makes a good leader?
A good leader is someone who listens and takes notice of people's views and then acts on them, as well as someone who can work on their own initiative and come up with a number of exciting ideas to carry their own organisation's goals forward.
Is leadership different for disabled people?
Having an impairment, in my own experience, helps me to focus on what I really want to achieve and work out logical ways of how to achieve them.
Do disabled people experience barriers to leadership that non disabled people don't experience?
I think there are many barriers, for me the current issue is one of getting references because of my employment history. It's been a little easier since 2004 when I got my first commission from DADA-South, but I think a lot of other disabled people are in similar situations, with a lot of gaps in their CV through illness or what ever, which makes securing future employment sometimes problematic.
