What makes a good leader?

It is essential for a good leader to be fair, but also ambitious for the growth of their organisation and those who work for them. They also should be skilled and knowledgeable within their field and possess vision.

Do disabled people experience leadership differently?

Yes, I believe in a positive way, often having an impairment encourages growth in communication and innovation skills which are also essential in leadership. However, disabled people do not always recognise this in themselves.

Do disabled people experience barriers to leadership that non disabled people don’t experience?

Yes, physically - accessing opportunities and buildings; socially - Disabled people are not expected to be leaders, they are usually seen as those who need to be helped, or facilitated. Therefore to change this assumption is quite difficult.
